AWAI Method Course Samples

For the American Writers and Artists Institute course, “The AWAI Method for Becoming a Skilled, In-Demand Copywriter,” I wrote the following samples. These are for fictitious products and companies. Most of these are short as many of the assignments had word limits.

PPC Ad:

Assignment: Write a PPC ad for a SAT prep course. 3 headlines of no more than 30 characters/spaces each, 2 descriptions of no more than 90 characters/spaces each.

Blog Title and Intro:

Assignment: Write a blog title of no more than 70 characters/spaces and intro paragraph of no more than 100 words about how to improve safety in parking lots.

Restaurant Letter:

Assignment: Write a 2-page letter convincing your friend to join you for dinner at your favorite restaurant.

Web Copy

I was given the original web copy and asked to rewrite it to be more conversational, interesting and persuasive in 50 words or less.

Another Web Copy:

Assignment: Write web copy for Charles Chiropractic Clinic. Write a headline, subhead, body copy of not more than 50 words, and a call to action.

Email:

Assignment: Write a 125-word email that teases a solution, but doesn’t reveal it, about how to get rid of a nagging backache that doctors weren’t improving.

Landing Page

Assignment: Write a landing page with a title, subhead, three bullet points, opt-in form, and call to action for the “Newbie’s Handbook to Flipping Houses.”
